Onomatopoeia

DEFINITION :  A figure of speech that imitates a sound.

EXAMPLE "Splatt!"
As he lost his balance, the water in his bucket spilled all over the floor.

SIGNIFICANCE :  Onomatopoeia is important in a poem because as it imitates a sound, it makes the
reader to imagine the scene and it also helps to have a better understanding
                                 for the poem.
